Surprise! Today, HTC retracted a Facebook comment and assures us that the Android 2.3 update will be available for the HTC Desire.
Just Yesterday the HTC Desire’s Facebook page filled its customers in that bringing Gingerbread to the phone was an impossibility:
“We’re sorry to announce that we’ve been forced to accept there isn’t enough memory to allow us both to bring Gingerbread and keep the HTC Sense experience on the HTC Desire.”
Either they’ve magically discovered a new solution, or plan on cutting the HTC Sense- something they refused to do.
A flood of responses through Twitter and Facebook is probably what changed their mind so suddenly.
